Scarcity loop model

I was listening to "The Exercise Expert: This Popular Lifestyle is Killing 1 Person Every 33 Seconds! (The Comfort Crisis)" with Michael Easter on podcasts. They discussed the scarcity loop model using the example of how slot machines use a three-part behavior loop that evolved naturally in the human brain to help us find food in the past. It highlighted how any service, product or experience that gives users opportunity, unpredictable rewards, and is quickly repeatable hooks the users. This is being co-opted by social media, casinos and many different industries. It made me think about how this possibility can be used to evaluate the likelihood of my products being successful.

They also talked about the status game and how people focus on things according to what their status is in life. It made me think about my target audience and how I can possibly segment my audience according to status instead of age group, occupation and other standard criteria.

Opportunity

Quickly Repeatable

Can users repeat interactions with my product frequently and seamlessly? Is the core user flow simple and frictionless to repeat?
