When asked about UV sanitisation, people instinctively think of the harmful effects UV has on the skin. Sanitisers that contain alcohol which is considered most effective have a strong smell and can cause dryness. Mothers don't prefer using sanitisers on their babies since it's not natural. 

Commercial sanitisers in long run can also increase antibiotic resistance, skin's BPA absorption, and penetration of lipophilic compounds. Natural sanitisers are costly, not easily available, or aren't proven to be effective.

The most challenging part was to figure out and put together the mechanisms and technical parts into a compact and sleek portable design. The design of the product required working electrolysis in a non-traditional way. The materials of the product also required careful selection to support the working of the entire device.

It was a challenge to design something that has never been created.
